If a man tells a mutual friend that you're going thru puberty (but youre a 20 something female) what could he mean by that?

It means the man is trying to demean you and you should have nothing to do with him.

They are cutting you down. Stay away from those kinds of people. They usually love to talk about others making hurtful comments when in reality they themselves have mental issues

Some kind of insult that you're "out of control" thanks to hormones, presumably.

It is, of course, possible that you ARE still going through puberty.  At 29, it's rare, but it does happen.

But my guess is that isn't what you are asking.  My guess is that you are assuming that you have passed puberty and he is indeed insulting you.

    And you're probably right.

He's probably saying that you find childish/teenagerish things funny, rather than adult humor.  For instance, teenagers tend to think that swearing makes them sound adult.  Adults tend to think that pointless swearing makes them look boorish.

On the other hand, there are very well paid, very successful comedians who swear worse than sailors loved by adults.  "Tend" is the magic word here.

In any case beware the second hand insult.  You don't know the context, and you don't know the motives of the "mutual friend".

It could mean that he believes youre going through puberty.
