Is it normal for laptop to restart itself while updating?

    Yes it's normal to restart to laptop while updating On restart, the incomplete update will be recognized as incomplete and the update restarted at an appropriate time. if there may be temporary files left behind, but that happens all the time with other running programs as well.

    Yes,during the installation of the download. Let it do it and don't stop it,you could ruin the OS and then there will be no more PC 4 U.

    No, Sometimes laptops would't restart at all, if update crashed the Operating System with new crazy update.

    Normally, it will prompt to restart, it install update first then shutdown and starts again, to complete installation process. You can always chose what to install. 

    Its better to post pone, and save all tasks, and I prefer on week ends, as sometimes it may take more time, and one wouldn't be able to use until update completes
