why wont my dvd run on my h/p laptop?

    There can be several reasons - wrong region, severely scratched, wrong optical drive (CD not DVD), dirty optical drive lens, etc. If the DVD runs on another computer, just use it there. If you must use that DVD on your laptop, try using an external USB DVD drive instead.

    Either dvd defective, not matching region code, recorded on dvd dash disk and not Closed, not set to auto-run and you don't know how to run, or, most likely, no software. Install VLC player.
