Why America was at their prime during the 1950s?

    I guess because it was the most conservative decade in America.

    Made Billions out of WW2 By Making their allies pay for the war they caused then made Trillions out of the Marshall Plan

    They sat out of WW2 selling arms and supplies to allies, and they didn't  get bombed like Europe. They eventually got involved in 1941. Just in time to BS and say they won the war.

    Before Nixon created the Oversea Investment corp and the EPA ....in 69 and 70 , respectively.

    America had a vibrant manufacturing base until the 70s. Main reason the US won both W. Wars. Sence the mass exodus of factories all we can do is tread water until the end comes.

    Bubba KKKlinton made it even worse in 93 with NAFTA which drove most of the remaining manufacturers out.

    The  rest of the world was still rebuilding after  WW2 .

    we came-out of WWII intact while most of the rest of the world was ruined ....................
