What is known about corona virus is: (1)  It's a very common respiratory virus that's been making the rounds for years.(2) For a healthy person, it's no more serious than the flu or a very bad cold, and the symptoms can be treated with OTC cold and flu medicines. (3) Just like the flu virus does every year, this year's strain of corona virus will gradually fade away; to be replaced next year by a new strain of corona virus. (4) There is no vaccination that will prevent any kind of air-borne virus.

It has a low mortality rate.  It's about 3% in *REPORTED* cases.  Most people who get sick just stay home and recover.  So if we guess 10-15% of the cases get reported that takes the mortality down under 1%.

Also viruses seem to mutate towards less severe forms as they spread due to natural selection.  A bug that makes its host very sick or dead doesn't get spread as easily as one that makes you cough and sneeze but not much else.  Bugs that kill or incapacitate their hosts don't spread as much because their hosts aren't out around other people.
