What does student use only during school hours mean. It's a big empty field with grass. It's not a football field.?

Does that mean for students only. Or when school is out it's open to the public. Which is common.

Sounds like they don’t want kids hanging out on the field.  It is school property and for use during school hours only.

Sounds to me like it's open to the public during non-school hours. We had a similar thing where I grew up.

The only acceptable tennis courts in the small town belonged to the Jr. High School. But knowing that, the school system posted a similar sign that said for [school name] students only during school hours.

To me, it means that it can only be used by students during school hours.
