# Statistics I got that .4890 is closest to the table value .4880 which has a Z score of .03?

• My table has a table value of 0.4890; z = 2.29

0.5000 - 0.4890 = 0.1100, closest to 0.0120 which has z = 0.03. Is that is?

• Your teacher is a moron.  This question does not contain enough information to have a unique answer.  If we SUPPOSE that 375 is the mean value in this example (which is not stated), then we are looking for a Z score of 2.29 (not 0.03).  No way in the world to find "x" without knowing the standard deviation of the distribution.

Or maybe you didn't post the introductory paragraph of the question...?
