Aluminum like all elements is made in stars so there are no geological processes which cause aluminum.  Aluminum is a very common element in rock and rock-derived materials (sediments and soils).  Much of what we mine, aluminum ore, is from soil that has been so deeply weathered over time that basically nothing except aluminum oxide (or hydroxide) remains.  Everything else got dissolved into water and carried away over time.
