    Yes, it is. You must build up savings for the miracle of compounding interest to take effect. Then you won't have to continue to work for money, your money will work for you. Buy assets with your money when you are young, not consumable goods which perish. There are many people who face retirement with no assets, nor the hope of building any wealth in the short time they have left.
