It's not really about money, it's about compassion.  There is already enough food produced in the world to feed everyone, we just need to distribute it better.  Not to mention stop destroying the ability of the Earth to produce food.

You could probably gather together enough money to end hunger and homelessness for a week.

But then it would just all start again.

The one single thing that would make a REAL difference is a reduction in population growth.

Have ONE fewer child. That would make a really huge difference. And of course if you have two or three fewer, it'll make even more of a difference. We don't need to worry about the world running out of babies for many generations yet!

    None at all.

Birth control, properly implemented, would be better.

100% taxes.  Even the US & Europe haven't been able to completely eliminate it.  Though we have mitigated it with food stamps, housing, medical care, etc.

But how would you end it in corrupt countries??  Zimbabwe comes to mind.  Once upon a time, they were the bread basket of Africa.  Now thru the wonders of Robert Mugabe & socialism, the people are desperately poor & hungry.  Any aide coming into the country is raked off by a corrupt government.

And this type of corruption is hardly unique to Zimbabwe.  Venezuela is another formerly well to do country.  Now thru the wonders of socialism they've also been driven into poverty.

I think the real question is how do you get all of those people to care enough about themselves so that they can become self-sufficient.

Here is a theory. No amount of money would eliminate hunger and homelessness because lots of money would enable lots more people to procreate, which would create an overabundance of people compared to the resources needed to keep them alive.

You take the number of hungry people and figure the amount it takes to feed each one for a day. So example: 100 hungry people, and they can each be fed for a day with $1, that’s $100 for that day.
