This cannot be generalized. Everywhere and at any time there have always been educated and less educated people, although the vast majority were less educated than nowadays (which does not necessarily mean more stupid) and of course had less (scientifically) proven information and also less information generally. However, there is no evidence that they were more stupid than those people in Antiquity.

Remarkable science and architecture also happened and were built during the Middle Ages, things that have not been done by Ancient people.

"why ancient Greece was more advanced than Middle Age?"

Some regions preserved ancient knowledge such as the Byzantine/ East Roman Empire and Caliphate of Córdoba, hence that knowledge continued in being used in these areas.

And the vast majority of Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Romans, Ancient Greeks and Ancient Babylonians were illiterate, not unlike medieval people at all, whether there was a loss of knowledge in some parts of the Western Roman Empire or not....

Also, the problem with your question is surely that you seem to think that the level of knowledge was the same in the early Middle Ages than in the late Middle Ages (so basically that knowledge and the level of knowledge stayed the same during the whole Middle Ages) and that all or most people in the whole of Ancient Greece had the same level of knowledge (so basically that knowledge and the level of knowledge stayed the same in the whole area).

Furthermore, there is absolutely no way to know or measure in any way what people all knew except maybe some technology, but "medieval people" means all people. How could we measure them?

The levels of human intelligence have remained largely unchanged for millennia. Every civilization reflected advancements f/ discovery, implementation and education. No one knows what was lost when the library of Alexandria burned down as it housed the most comprehensive composite of what was known at the time. The world could have developed much differently.

For just LOOK AT WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED (or stopped so to speak) with  the inbred strife & wars that are EVEN A FACTOR TODAY (including "religious type" strife today which is a often a smokescreen for RACIAL (& "tribal") conflicts.

The fall of the Roman Empire was the key.

After Rome fell to savage barbarians the civilized world fell into 1000 years of backwardness and darkness.

Medieval people weren't any more or less dumb than people at any other time.  There's a great quote from an archeologist who studies stone age Britain, which I think is also applicable to the Medieval period: "They weren't primitive, they just had primitive technology".  The people of Medieval Europe were just as smart (or dumb) as we are now, they just didn't have as advanced technology (and for most of them as much access to learning).

The idea of Medieval Europe as a land of blighted ignorance is mostly an invention of Renaissance European writers who waned to contrast their supposedly enlightened time with a past which they, for propaganda reasons, wanted to portray as backwards and uncultured.
