# Transmittance question?

I'm trying to rework the equation of absorbance below (it is the negative logarithm of the transmittance) so I can find the transmitted light intensity (I) but I don't really understand how to do so. Any help would be great, thanks!

A = -log I/Io

A = 0.5

I = transmitted light intensity (trying to find)

Io = 200

Given

.....A = -log I/Io

.....A = 0.5

.....I = transmitted light intensity (trying to find)

.....Io = 200

0.5 = -log I/200

log I/200 = -0.5

10⁻⁰·⁵ = I/200

0.31623 = I/200

I = (0.31623)(200)

I = 63.246.....................ANS

As A = - log (I/Io)

=>(10)^-A = (I/Io)

=>10^A = Io/I

=>10^0.5 = 200/I

=>3.16 = 200/I

=>I = 200/3.16

=>I = 63.25
