Its a low carb, moderate protein and high fat diet. When you don't eat carbs for your body to run off of the body starts running off fat which creates ketones and the whole thing is called ketosis.

You can eat whatever you want as long as your macros are where they should be but obviously its good to eat healthy.

Eat lots of vegetables. Lots. There are many veggies that are super low in carbs.

Eat minimally processed meats. Avoid hotdogs, lunch meat etc.

Eat healthy fats like fatty cuts of meat, avocado oil, coconut oil etc. Avoid vegetable oils.

You can eat cheese, nuts, seeds and low carb fruits as well.

The ketogenic diet is a very low-carb, high-fat diet that has many similarities to the Atkins and low-carb diets. It is about drastically reducing carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat. This reduction in carbohydrates puts your body in a metabolic state called ketosis.

Its a scam, like all fad diets. If covid-19 has done one positive thing for us, its knock all that diet bullsh*t on the head. You cant get shipments of the new junk miracle pill or tailor your shopping trip to the ridiculous demands of whatever theory people are pushing this week. No non essential deliveries and buying what the supermarkets have in stock means those fraudsters will soon be out of business

It is a diet that is extremely low on sugar and carbs.. But high fat.

You eat mostly meat. Theres many veggies that cant be used in this diet because they are too high in carbs. Fruits, bread and pasta are out.

The point is to put your body in a state of ketosis.. That is, your body uses fat for energy instead of carbs. It can take several days to achieve ketosis.. So there is NO "cheat days" either.
