Should I take Academic courses even though I have no intention of using it in the future?

In high school, some subjects are seperated into two groups, Academic or Applied. I am planning on taking Academic English however I won't be trying to learn this in University or Collage or have a future career dependant on this subject.

First, you don't know what you'll want to do in the future. Many, many people work for a few years, and then decide that the work they want to do requires a degree, so they return to school. Second, ALL jobs are dependent on being able to communicate well, and English classes help you with that.
