Does yahoo know who the Anonymous askers are?

No. but IT techs often CAN trace activity back to a specific email address, but they would need a search warrant from law enforcement. Of course the military and national law enforcement and intelligence agencies like NSA and CIA and Interpol can do that without a search warrant if they have sufficient reason. No one has complete jurisdiction over the internet.
Verizon has OWNED Yahoo for at least 3 years or possibly longer if you include the period Yahoo had accepted Yahoo's offer before Verizon took over Yahoo headquarters on June 13-14, 2017. IF you have a Verizon account because Verizon is your ISP provider, yes Verizon does know who you are. Yahoo knows who you are too, or at least what your cell phone number is.
Wow! I hit some very raw and guilty nerves apparently.

Yes, Yahoo can see who Anonymous users are (it wouldn't make sense if they couldn't). If they couldn't then a user could hide behind Anonymous and abuse the site with no risk of having their account suspended or deactivated, but that's not the case. The only people who can't directly see the Anon's true (YA) identity are other users (even if those users know which user they are).

Verizon owns Yahoo and they've been spying on us all for years. They know.

Probably, but I seriously doubt they care
