The IRS suspended  processing of paper returns due to processing stimulus  payments. Supposed to resume in mid June but if there is another round of stimulus  payments it will probably  be October

You MAILED a copy after the IRS stopped processing paper. You can expect your refund about the same time as you are filing next years return.

COVID and it was a paper return.

In case you hadn't noticed, there's a pandemic and many offices are closed, including the IRS processing centers. Mail has been piling up and is stored to be processed when they reopen. That's why it's always better to e-file if your return qualifies for it. You aren't going to see your refund for months.

Because mailed paper copies aren't being processed due to COVID-19.

Because your return has been sitting in a mail bag with nobody to open it.

The IRS completely stopped processing paper returns a couple of months ago due to COVID.

They are, just now, starting up again and are trying to get to the backlog.

Don't look for money anytime soon.

There has been a delay in processing paper returns due to IRS workers furloughed because of covid.
