Will they have a vaccine for the coronavirus soon?

Probably by the beginning of next year. They need to test different vaccines on volunteers to be sure it's safe and effective first.

Depends on how your define "soon." It will take at least a year from the first human tests for any vaccine to be widely available to the public. As of today, there are several companies working on vaccines. Most rational experts are suggesting it will be two years before the average person will be able to get a vaccine.

Lots of people are working on one, but vaccines typically take 1+ years to effectively develop.

They won't have a vaccine any time "soon". Even if they formulated a vaccine tomorrow that they THINK might be effective against this year's strain of coronavirus, the vaccine is going to have to undergo 16 to 18 months of test trials and research before the FDA will deem it safe and release it for use.
A vaccine that might be effective against one year's strain of the virus wont be effective against the next year's strain of the virus. You'll have to be re-vaccinated every year against the new strain - just like you have to be re-vaccinated every year against the flu. The coronavirus vaccine they're working on isn't going to give you the long-term protection that DPT and polio shots do - it's not that kind of vaccine. Vaccines with long-term protection take years and years to develop.
The coronavirus vaccine isn't going to prevent you from contracting a coronavirus (just as the flu vaccine doesn't prevent you from contracting the flu). It's just going to reduce the severity of the symptoms if you do contract a coronavirus.

Hopefully. Dr Fauci thinks one could be ready in early 2021. But that seems too soon. Coming up with a vaccine takes time. Sometimes years. And sometimes - one is never found. But the desperation to find one for this particular virus is extreme. So lots of people are working on it. Which is great!

China already inoculated their population. They’ve had a working vaccine since 2019. I pooped my pants again.

Covid-19 has already evolved into Covid-19D so probably not?
