Should countries pay reparations for slavery?

A number of west African and Caribbean nations have said there should be reparations. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker have both said some level financial compensation should be given.

But if countries should pay, I don’t see how it could be done. Its not practicable considering how many countries were involved, the time that’s elapsed and organising exactly who would get what money. The US were involved, the British/French/Dutch Empires, and other countries. What if some nations pay and others do not?
