Can I use a vacuum pump to to recover r134a refrigerant to an empty tank?

Can I use a vacuum pump to recover refrigerant on a Ford Focus 2005 zx4?

    Absolutely not You need a recovery machine and then the tank The vac pump is only made to suck the line out of air .Not to transfer high pressure material DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THAT

    You need a refrigerant "recovery" machine.

    You generally need a license to recover refrigerant.  Take your car to a licensed AC technician.
