I caught a spider in a jar to take outside. Inside, it was shaking its butt. Why?

If it was rubbing it's legs together or on its butt then it was probably using one of its defence techniques. They do this so the hair on their abdomen (or legs) floats into the air and irritates the nose, eyes, or skin.

Probably a male, they bob their butt as well as tap a leg and pluck the silk of a female spider. a species specific signal so the right male doesn't get eaten.

Some people just do not like the idea of people keeping animals in captivity, so they make false claims that keeping animals like dolphins and orcas in captivity is cruel. These people also want us to stop eating animals. So, they want to discourage both.

It was a rare and endangered Twerk spider, Gluteus shakus myliecyrius.
