pH: Exponential and Logarithmic functions?

Between 2007 and 2017, the annual average pH of precipitation in a northern Ontario town dropped from 5.6 to 4.3. How many times more acidic was the precipitation in 2017 than the precipitation in 2007?

    2007: pH = 5.6

    2017: pH = 4.3

    drop in pH indicates increase in acidity 

    ...

    5.6 = log[1/H1]

    10^5.6 = 1/H1

    H1 = 1/(10^5.6)

    ...

    4.3 = log[1/H2]

    10^4.3 = 1/H2

    H2 = 1/(10^4.3)

    ...

    H2/H1 = [1/(10^4.3)] / [1/(10^5.6)] = 10^5.6 / 10^4.3 = 10^(5.6 - 4.3) = 10^1.3 ≈ 20

    ...

    about 20 times more acidic in 2017 than 2007
