can i use a jigsaw to cut thru polypropylene?

    would not waste my time.  Do you got a handsaw that cuts wood? Use for faster results.  Or a circular saw.  Poly plastic is as hard as wood.

    Probably. 

    You will likely need to slow it down, though.

    Friction melts the plastic, depends how fine a job you need. 

    I usually cut with a fine blade panel saw.

    Jigsaws are OK asa time filler but I always find the sky very difficult.

    Yes, but use a fine tooth blade and set it for a slow speed so it doesn't overheat the plastic.

    sure.  might not make a very clean cut, though.  A backing saw will cut the plastic plenty straight for most purposes

    What type of material is it - e.g. solid sheet or foam ?  Jigsaw may not be the best tool, I often find a fine-tooth hand saw used slowly is the better bet.
