Should I trade in or keep my 2019 Honda Civic LX?

I bought a new 2019 Honda Civic LX sedan manual in February 2020. I only drive 16.000 kilometers per year. I was thinking of trading the Honda in just before the 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty expires. On the other hand, I like the car and am also thinking of keeping it 8-10 years. What is the best way to go? Should I trade in 3 years or keep it for 8-10 years. Thank you.

It's a Honda... you should be fine for 10 years and beyond with proper maintenance and care. The warranty isn't as long as many others, but who cares? The car has a good record for reliability. Car companies who give long warranties do so because they tend to be companies who don't have a good reputation with long term reliability, and they use that as their trump card to sell cars. Hyundai/ Kia is a fine example. Around the time the warranty expires, they tend to develop issues. Ask most mechanics about it. Heck, I know a few people who have had major issues before the warranty had a chance to expire.

Never trade in vehicles, car dealerships offer you less of the Honda`s MSRP and turn around and mark it up at a higher price!

Keep the vehicle. Make sure to have the CVT transmission serviced every 60,000 miles at the dealer so if the tranny fails you have records at the dealer showing you serviced the transmission. That way you can ask for an extended warranty to replace the transmission.

The best way to go depends on your financial situation. Only you know whether you can really afford to change cars after only 2-3 years or not.

Look up your trade in value then decide...if money is not important to you, the difference might not matter.

If it's paid off I'd keep it.

Why do you worry about stuff that at the shortest period is still 2.5 years away.

Maybe covid will have taken over the world by then and we will all be dead
