Is this right or fair ??

As a security guard I work 7.30 pm to 4.00 am. After 11.00 pm their is no restroom access.  I addressed the issue with my co worker we decided to buy ourselves camping portable toilet.

We sent an e mail to our supervisor who is getting a key made for a room that is empty and never used so we can store the toilet.

My issue is I just wanted myself and the one co worker to use it.  She claims boss stated everyone will have access and able to use it.  I do not believe that is right because our company is not paying for it my coworker and I are.  I did not want everyone to know about it.  I do not want the issue of someone misplacing the key, breaking the toilet, not cleaning up after each usage therefore we would lose room access.  I really did not want to share this toilet with possibly who knows how many people.  I am now reculant to purchase it unless others help with the purchase too.

Update 2:

Ok I don't buy it tell me where do I $H!t @ genius.

Look into this with the labor board. To the best of my knowledge no business is allowed to not give access to a bathroom for any employee working there. As far as you buying the camping toilet, that is something that you should NOT have to do, but if you do, just let the boss know that if the cost isn't shared by everyone, then no one will be allowed to use it but you and your partner.

People if you can't or won't read or answer this question sincerely please don't post anything.  Is it hard to understand we have no bathroom after 11.00 pm.

You have not even bought the thing and your boss is inviting others to use it?  Just don't buy it. Problem solved.

And free bonus advice: When it rains, go inside.

It depends on what was put in your post orders.  Go back and read what it says about bathroom breaks and access.  If you don’t have your original copy ask your boss or admin person.

I have seen post orders that only allow bathroom access during your lunch break.  Some clearly say you can’t use customer facilities.  No kidding!  Security officers had to make sure their bladders were empty when they arrived at work and would’t drink a drop of water all day!  They were also not allowed to sit down or even “lean” against a wall or something if they got tired from standing and patrolling.

People think security officers have the easiest job in the world but that is often the furthest thing from the truth.
