Why is Darth sidious  in the rise of skywalker ?

We saw darth Vader throw him down a massive ventilation shaft in the death star at the end of the original trilogy

    It's supposedly his clone, I think.  Most people are in agreement that the movie was trying to do too much and didn't explain things very well.

    Death means nothing in the Star Wars universe. Just suspend your disbelief and accept anything they want to throw at you.

    There’s a comic that’s not canon anymore that shows he made 100s of clones in case of his death so he could rule even longer. I guess the movie sort of took that idea and made it cannon. Anyway if you remember Luke fell down a massive ventilation shaft too and survived so why wouldn’t any other powerful force user.
