Are autistic people lower than special ed kids?

Like are they lower than someone with intellectual disorder or Down syndrome?

So, let's talk about what you mean by "lower" because that's a subjective concept. Do you mean lower as in lower functioning (like needs more supports)? Or, lower like somehow lower on the scale of humanity? Autism, like many syndromes and disorders, exists on a spectrum. There are some people with autism who are able to navigate mainstream education and go on to have families and careers. On the other end of the continuum are those who are severely impacted and will need care for their entire lives. Autism can be diagnosed in someone with other disabilities like an intellectual disorder or Down syndrome--- it's actually not uncommon for children with other developmental disabilities to also have autism or have features of autism. But, no human is lower than any other human... except pedophiles, pedophiles are lower than other humans.
