People who shoot animals are bad...

The problem comes when the animals shot are on top of the food pyramid - - the predators. The prey have already adapted to breeding like mad and the predators are all that keep them from plague numbers - - usually. Remove the predators and the prey species rise in numbers precipitously. The classic example of this is the deer of the Kaibab Plateau.

Hunters are the ones keeping the deep population healthy, both by lowering their numbers and by their monetary contributions to conservation efforts.
