Determine whether there is precipitate or no precipitate in the solution?

Given Ksp of CaSO4 is 2 × 10^-5, Determine whether there is precipitate or no precipitate in the solution containing 10 cm^3 of 0.01 mol dm^-3 Ca(NO3)2 and 10 cm^3 of 0.01 mol dm^-3 H2SO4? Use M1V1 = M2V2 and Qsp

    For Ca2+: M1V1 = M2V2

    0.010 dm^3 X 0.010 mol/dm^3 = M2 (020 dm^3)

    M2 = 5.0X10^-3 mol/dm^3

    For SO42-:

    0.010(0.010) = 0.020(M2)

    M2 = 5.0X10^-3 mol/dm^3

    Ksp = [Ca2+][SO42-] = 2X10^-5

    Qsp = (5.0X10^-3)(5.0X10^-3) = 2.5X10^-5

    Because Qsp > Ksp, a small amount of precipitate will form.
