usually it weakens you a bit.

Maybe for a few hours but the body will remanufacture the lost blood pretty fast.

If you are healthy, you probably won't feel weak or any different, though some do feel light headed or weak right after donating.

Only a bit and it's more dehydration than anything else. That's why they give you juice and cookies. Please give blood if you can. I can't anymore because I had cancer. Our mom had a blood disorder and needed transfusions that bought her an extra year or so.

What do you mean "weak"?
A bit dizzy if you get up too quickly. You feel back to normal after a week or so

Unless you are otherwise unhealthy in some way, you might feel weak for a short period after giving blood; rest for a few minutes, have a drink of juice, and maybe eat a small snack.
good news is, long term, giving blood is one of the best ways to improve your health. It is a sure fire way to remove heavy metals from the body, and forces your marrow to create new blood which strengthens most people. Giving blood offers positive benefits to you as much as to the people who get your blood.

No, but it is advisable for you take rest & eat or drink healthy food before leaving. Usually for those who are healthy, they won't have any problem & can leave straight once he had donated his blood.

People give blood all the time. You could get weak if you try to stand up too fast after giving blood. However, normally they will have you sit for five minutes and drink some orange juice or drink. I've given blood many times and have never had a problem with weakness or fainting etc.

Yes, you will feel weak and you could faint. That's why they won't allow you to leave right away afterwards. You have to sit and rest for a short time before you can leave. Otherwise, they would be liable if you did faint and hurt yourself. The weakness does not last for long. They only keep you for about half an hour.Source(s): Family member gives blood regularly.

-- Usually no, but occasionally a person may feel slightly dizzy. Therefore the blood bank nurses recommend eating and drinking something along with resting for around 15-30 minutes.
