    I think these days it keeps you unprepared to deal with the constant encroachment politics has on your life. There are two competing parties and they were always contrasting to one another. Now we have the Democratic Party who decided to make an enemy out of God (the Democratic Party), openly (2012 DNC convention and other attempts to remove God from American tradition). So there is why a person might want to keep up with at least a few issues, these Democrats aren't interested in your constitutional rights, but always tell you they are.
