Why do people still not know the difference between SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19? Less than 1% of the people who have SARS-CoV-2 get COVID-19?

Fine Bender, SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that might result in the disease COVID-19... which makes things really complicated because talking about COVID-19 mortality rates and SARS-CoV-2 mortality rates are very different topics.

In most conversations and media, the point is mute and an unneeded differentiation. On the other hand, this question has nothing to do with R&S and should be in one of the medical categories.

People are uneducated about a lot of things.  An example is this question that belongs in Medicine but is posted in Religion.

And here, even you did not explain the difference, so you're not even helping to resolve that issue... just grumbling about it.
