Why is it that in the US School debates and school book reports are held to a higher standard than political debates?
There it is more accountability and fact checking in a school debate and of school book report. You could never get away with it in a book report or a school debate in 2 weeks. Debates are supposed to be informative , have comprehensive details and site sources to persuade individuals. current political debates are the equivalent of a hybrid of a prep rally and a MMA pre-fight conference. Currently there's more antagonizing, vague information with little substance or details, hype and antagonizing
New sources aren't dictating reality for the most part for the most part resources are presenting facts. Pathetic political fanboys are afraid of facts

The problem with US politics is that it's currently dominated by two political parties, each of which are corrupt, unscrupulous and consumed only with staying in or getting into power. There's a reason political parties aren't part of the Constitution and a reason President George Washington warned us against them. Imagine how much less violence and fighting we'd have if national elections were literally just candidate against candidate and after the state primaries (which would be open to all) we only had to select from the top two as opposed to blue or red. We'd all be a lot saner (and much of the mainstream media would be a lot poorer as it couldn't use political divisiveness to drive clicks and views).

You don't have the Major News Sources attempting to dictate reality for only one side now do you!
