People who have a history of mental illness might be banned from driving. True or false?

In the interest of public safety, people who have a history of psychological/psychiatric problems might be banned from driving.

Such a restriction is compelling evidence that people who have psychosomatic symptoms are more prone to having road traffic accidents.

They are more likely to be seriously injured or killed in a car collision, and they are more likely to cause the death of third parties.

True or false?

What kind of mental illness? As far as I know, people with depression can drive. Schizophrenics that are stable can drive too.
