When ordering two or more parcels from amazon why do they ship them at different times if ordered at the sametime?

On Amazon, there are many sellers. Sometimes one item is a purchase from an independent vendor and the second from Amazon itself.

Many of the listings on amazon.com are not actually sold by Amazon. They're coming from some other vendor who just uses the well-known site to get more business.
Even if both parcels say "shipped by Amazon", they're not necessarily both stocked at the warehouse nearest to you. Amazon will try to get each parcel to you as fast as possible.

amazon doesnt 'stock' everything they sell .. they let 3rd party sellers sell through them just like ebay .. so if your items are not all stocked and sold through a single amazon warehouse they wont be the same shipment ususally ..
