If parenting is rewarding, why are parents still unhappy? Shouldn’t the child satisfy your need for more?

Rewarding doesn't automatically equate "without challenge." In fact, the more challenging something is, it's generally also the more rewarding. Getting what you want in one area also doesn't automatically equate total happiness.

People who research this topic say it's not parenting that makes people unhappy, but rather *how* we parent. Specifically how Americans parent, with very little social or community support compared to parents in other countries.
