How come china has NO -alphabet ?

    because it doesn't have a single spoken language.

    using ideograms enables speakers of all sinitic languages to read the same books and newspapers

    Because, like many countries / languages, it has a different kind of written language which doesn't use an ABC style format

    China is a logographic language, not an alphabetic one.
