I'm getting the heck out of California next year and relocating to Missouri.  Will it be hard to adjust?

How different are these 2 states? What is it like living in Missouri long term?

All I can tell you for sure is that it will be much cheaper, the weather will be awful, and the women will be less hot.

Well, the surfing in Missouri definitely sucks, except when a Gulf hurricane churns up the Mississippi river and makes big 2-foot waves. Fun fact, though: California is famous for having a bear on its flag, but Missouri has one too. In fact it has 2 bears. They are very small and are in the state seal, but it is the only other state with bears on its flag. You may be able to pick up a few free drinks by using that as a bar-trivia answer.

Completely different.  Whether it is hard to adjust is up to you.

California is a big place and Missouri is a big place.

If you live in the flower district of downtown LA and move to North Park Ridge, KC, MO you won't notice a difference.

If you are moving from Palo Alto to springfield MO = there will be many differences.
