Why do some people take school for granted?

Like some people use social media when the teacher is talking, the girls talk about their crushes and their hair while they’re supposed to be working, some don’t care when they get an F, etc.

Chances are those people are gonna pay for that.

Medea is exciting but the young ones really dont care about the future

  • Well, on the one hand, education, in America, is not valued the way it once was. School is just viewed as something that you get through, when in reality it could be so much more. It's a place to discover yourself and your interests, make new friends, and become a better person. Blame goes to both the institution of the school programming and the general societal stigmas that kids learn about school.

The American school system is a failure. Curriculum is intentionally based on quantity over quality, funding is based solely on grade performance instead of comprehensive internalization and a lot of basic life skills are completely left out (sex-ed, taxes, politics, emotional intelligence, etc. ). It's supposed to be miserable.

But it's also a failure of society, which continually tells students that school is just a bunch of boring hoops you have to jump through in order to be able to get a sustainable job and support yourself.

It makes me so sad because it could be so much better if we just tried. Most teachers are willing to work with curriculum changes if it means that it's a better learning environment for the students, but the school system will not change.

Because school is pointless for the future and barely helps you with anything in day to day life. Their natural instinct knows that school is corrupt and it's history classes are propaganda.

Chances are, anyone who wants a good job will just pay for degrees and certifications.

The actual education doesn't seem to matter anymore.
