Does south america have a lot of earthquakes?

bruh i need help with this as soon as possible/

    It really depends on what you consider "a lot".

    South America is a large continent, some regions have more earthquakes than other regions.

    Some parts, definitely.  Major quakes.  Mostly along the west coast (from the Andes westward down and under the ocean).  Some of the biggest recorded earthquakes ever, happened in South America.

    Of course. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, South America is one of the most earthquake-prone regions of the world and has witnessed tremendous losses throughout recorded history.
