Even if hypothetically god existed, why would we owe that god anything?

We never asked to come into existence, not even everyone is happy to have been born. How can god expect anything in return if we had no choice in the matter?

When you’ve only heard about God but don’t know Him, it’s easy to think that worshipping God is giving Him something that you owe Him. But once you’re born again by His Spirit and have a real relationship with Him you discover it’s all about coming and receiving from Him, so that more and more you can become what He is, as Jesus is.

Worship and adoration of the Lord (as well as the desire to obey Him) is the natural response when He gives you revelation of who He is, what He’s done for you and how immeasurable His love and grace are for you personally - you can’t help it - it’s not about owing Him something, even though He is so worthy. And man does He appreciate even our smallest act of worship from the heart (even though His lovingkindness inspires it) - He knows us completely, even our weaknesses, yet He’s undone by just a glance of our worshipping eyes. Jesus’ love is amazing.

there is no doubt that God does exist. what actually matters is which religion is true church, and whether Jesus saves people of all religions, whether they believe in His salvation, or whether he knows that many will receive his atonement after death. otherwise, what you are talking about is choice, and there is a doctrine of the pre-existence as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints, in their theology, we all had a pre existence and we all had a choice to be born in following the faith of Jesus Christ, and His atonement which is the only way mankind can be saved, Through His name only. there is no hypothesis about it. there is a plan of salvation and it begins with faith on Jesus, baptism by water and being born again to enter the kingdom of God.

    Selfishness is imperfection.

    God's all about perfection.

If God didn't create you, he would be selfish for not letting you experience life.

Apparently God desires that you should be with him forever, but you must be like his Son: pure and humble.

  • He strikes me as being the most childish, egotistical being who never lived.

  • god  loves  you.

We would not.  And a perfect being would neither need nor desire anything from us lesser beings.
