Why does my friends suicide make me see things that aren’t there. ?

My friend passed about 4 months ago. He committed suicide by jumping from an overpass onto highway traffic. I didn’t see it happen, but his mom explained in great detail the aftermath of the scene (body bag, blood, his body, literally everything.) since it happened I get panic attacks thinking about it, I freak out when I see bags or things on the side of the highway because I just jump to conclusion that it’s someone in a body bag. I can’t drive under overpasses because  all I can imagine is someone’s jumping, and I freak out when someone is walking on them because I think they’re going to jump. Is this normal to think?

You're traumatised and likely suffering from secondary PTSD. You need to see a counsellor asap.
