Why is the comments section gone?

I didn’t just notice this, I’ve known this a little while after I joined (two months ago). How come Yahoo Answers hasn’t brought back the comments section even though like 100000000 people have requested it in the Feedback section?

Comments were removed on 7/23/2020, as has been asked and answered DOZENS of times since the change occurred.

    Per Yahoo:

"In order to strengthen and improve community and engagement, we are temporarily disabling comments.

Our goal is always to create a safe, engaging place to connect over interests and passions and we’d love your feedback on how to improve this experience. Please email us your feedback at yahoocommentfeedback@verizonmedia.com"

We weren't notified of them being removed ahead of time and we won't be notified IF they are returned (they'll just reappear). That feature may not be returned, as it was badly abused and there are plenty of people who don't want it returned or don't care if it's not returned. Something being requested in the feedback forum doesn't ensure it'll be returned or added to the site (esp if some of the 'requests' were of the same inappropriate content as many of the comments used to be).

Yahoo was caught time and again omitting key faces and rewriting stories to favor their political agenda and that of their owners.  To keep doing that without moving to admit to it they eliminated all opposition.  Most dictators do this as does CNN & MSNBC.

  • Because a certain user here was crying so hard over the fact that other users were telling the truth about his personality on here.

Source(s): Because it all happened a day after a question was posted about him and users were having discussions about him in the comments sections, or maybe it's a coincidence but I don't really think so.

Commenting has been removed. They say it is temporary, but it sounds like changes may be coming based on what kind of user feedback they get. Yahoo's announcement on this can be found at the bottom of every article posted:

Our goal is to create a safe and engaging place for users to connect over interests and passions. In order to improve our community experience, we are temporarily suspending article commenting. In the meantime, we welcome your feedback to help us enhance the experience.

Don't exaggerate Verizon Media disabled commenting on YA on July 23 and across the?entire Yahoo platform MORE than 2 MONTHS ago for safety and security reasons until AFTER the US presidential election. Verizon doesn't want the?whole site to crash for hours be cause of all the spam, rants, hate speech, death threats and political/personal agendas overloading the memory space and band Width of the?server computers. This HAS happened before. Yahoo did EXACTLY the same thing for the same reasons in 2012 and 2016.
