In 1950 my tank only needs 2.5 gallons of gas and at 27 cents per gallon the total is 68 cents! Is 10 cents a good tip for the attendant?
Update:
I always thought tipping a station attendant was customary in the 1950s!

It's hard to believe but I had a car once that wouldn't take more than $2 in gas! It was an Austin Mini and it had a 6 gallon tank--on which it went more than 200 miles.
Having been a gas station attendant once myself, I can tell you, nobody ever tipped them.
