A gene has 1000 pairs of bases while mRNA has a mass of 90.000g/mole. nucleotid mass=300Why is there an inconsistency between genes and RNA?

    Assuming that this gene is in a eucaryote, most genes contain introns. These are sequences within the gene that do not appear in the mRNA. So, the difference in size of the mRNA and the gene is due to these sequences that are spliced out of the transcript and do not appear in the mRNA.
