how are successful people consistent?

    That would be an absurd generalization, given the many various forms of consistency and success. Let me use a baseball pitcher as an example.

    A pitcher in the Major Leagues who finishes a season with 20 wins is a consistent winner and is highly successful in his profession.

    Now consider a  pitcher who always starts a batter with a fastball away. At any given count, the pitcher always throws the same pitch. Such a pitcher would be very consistent, hence very predictable. Hitters throughout the league would feast on him, regardless of his skill. This would not be a successful pitcher, and soon he would not be a pitcher at all.

    success comes from a variety of traits.

    a definite goal

    education in that field

    ongoing study in their field, etc
