Is it possible for an adult child to be paid back child support?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. The 'child' was NEVER entitled to child support. The ADULT that supported the child is entitled to receive the financial support. The ONLY way the 'adult child' would have a legal claim is if the parent or other legal guardian entitled to support died, and the child was the legal heir to the estate.

NO.  Child Support goes to the Custodial Parent only.........even if it is back child support.

No. Child support is designed to supplement the custodial parent's income while raising a child. If you are already grown up and the custodial parent wins overdue child support, that money is not the child's (now an adult) as it is reimbursement to the parent who raised the child.

No, child support goes to the person providing the support, not the child and being an adult will not change that.

If that adult child had his/her own child and the coparent of that child was in arrears, sure. But if you're asking about support that was ordered to pay your parent for the raising of you, that back child support would go to your own custodial parent as remuneration for all the money they've already spent in raising you.

No.  Children are not awarded child support because they are not responsible for supporting themselves.  There is no such thing as back child support owed to a child.

The child support is owed to the person the court designated as recipient (the child's other parent or legal guardian) because they are the person responsible for providing for the child's needs.

No, the support is never owed to the child, unless the child is the sole heir of the estate of the parent who was due the support, and that parent is dead.

No.   The arrears are owed to the custodial parent, not to the child

Only if the parent agrees to do that but they can't be made to pay the adult child as you put it
