Why are people looked down upon for having a dysfunctional childhood home?

Update:

Julie , noticed I did not say “some” or “all” people, I was asking why people in this situation face judgement in the first place.

That is not always true.  "Some" people judge other people for just about everything, because it's in their nature to do so.  "Some" people don't judge other people at all, no matter if it has to do with growing up in a dysfunctional childhood home or because they are an addict in recover.  Some people just plain "judge" and accuse just to make themselves look better because they themselves have low self esteem.  Other people have compassion for people who have grown up in a worse way then they did and also have compassion for anyone who might be sick and suffering.

Thank goodness you didn't say "all people."  "Some people" is WAY different than "all people."

Have you ever seen the Movie Homeless to Harvard?  That is a very good example of someone who grew up in the pits of Hell and then rose above all of it.  The same thing could apply to some drug addicts.  "Some' people judge them because of their character flaws or want to blame their upbringing to cause this.  People who have been in long term recovery often go on to be peer recovery coaches to help other people who came from the same dark place that they were once in.

Because people are ässholes. It's not someone's fault they had a bad upbringing. You can't choose your family.
