Loud pop sound in the morning.?

So in the morning there was a loud bang sound, like a loud clap, that woke me up. I looked all over my room to find what it was, at first I was thinking it was some electronics that fried and exploded but found nothing. Then I thought it could be the house settling, but it really didn't sound like that, I've heard it before where my cookie cutter suburb home pops and cracks in the winter. This sound was as I said like a loud clap or one of those packing bubbles that pop real loud, and it echoed in the room.

After googling I found a weird condition called exploding head syndrome? Where it's caused by the body somehow, but I've never had this happen before, also how would it recreate that echo in my room?

I have no idea, please throw some suggestions my way.

There are some things that don't and/or can't have good explanations.

Most likely is that it was an effect of your brain chemistry

suddenly changing mode from sleeping to waking.

I say this because I have had something similar happen a few times.

If it woke you up how do you know it wasn't just a dream?
