--  For News services from around the world, then the best is Reuters Wire Service along with its photo service (started in 1982) and Reuters TV which took over VISNEWS which it part owned previously.

--  The BBC has only a few correspondents around the world and rely more on Reuters for its overseas news.  BBC World Service is a good news outlet and the BBC within Britain is also a good news outlet.

--  Radio Australia is another good international news outlet while the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is excellent within Australia.  Like the BBC, it has only a very small number of foreign correspondents.

--  Al Jazeera is an excellent news outlet for news within the Middle East. It was set up by the BBC with both BBC and ABC personnel.

I read BBC and Al Jazeera, which is a Middle Eastern equivalent of the BBC.

To hear the other side I read Russia Today, which is mostly Russian propaganda but interesting, plus English versions of countries like the Philippines, Iran Palestinian and Arab news.

This gives a balanced perspective. BBC, though reasonably fair, is biased in favour of Israel's policies. The English Times and Sunday Times have interesting in-depth reports.

In other words, read them all.

It would be the BBC but just remember all media sources will have their own political agenda so never believe everything they report.  And the BBC is no different.
