When there are food replicators and animals are no longer slaughtered for food, what will happen to all those cows and chickens?
Fish will just be fish.
BQ: What will he the first food to be successfully replicated? Earl Grey, hot?
@Fred - Radar and TV were scifi 100 years ago. A mainframe computer in your pocket was unthinkable more recently than that. Try to keep up.
3D food printers use real food as "ink," not plastics or chemicals.

Creepy question, which makes me ask one in return, why?, do you have something special in mind for them, just saying, strange

Should it come to that, most of the animals would be slaughtered because there would be no profit in keeping them

Beans are being used to make fake Beef burgers. They compare it with beef -they do not call it Bean&chemical burger.I wonder why? So I guess chickens and beef will still be around to keep up the food quality standards. There will always be "meatatarians" just as there are "vegetarians". We could replace cows with horses, that is edible meat too. Beef production is going up as more of the world is getting rich enough to afford beef. Chickens used to be dinosaurs, so we are making sure they NEVER get BIG AGAIN. Isn't chickens the main industry of Kentucky?Fish can be made from vegetables and chemicals.
. Right now it is cheaper to get them from fishing. Everything is about $cost. The bean burger is on a test trial right now & costs more than a real meat burger & has more salt in it and other unhealthy chemical additives.
. If the flies won't eat it then it is not really edible. That is a good measuring stick.
. If it does not decompose(rot) then that is plastic food, how does a body get nutrition from plastic?
